What is it like to grow up in the historic boomtown of Virginia City, Nevada? Who were some of the famous faces and local characters that passed through town? How did it feel to witness major historic events from the perspective of a Virginia City resident?
All of these and many more questions will be answered through the newest educational video series from the Historic Fourth Ward School Museum. In this first season of Oral History interviews, join host and researcher Taylor Hamby as she talks with nine special guests, all of whom were either raised in Virginia City or have dedicated their lives and careers to the Comstock!
This introductory season features five episodes of hour-long, uninterrupted interviews with Ron Gallagher, Peter Kraemer, "The Lousy Five" (Charlene Young, Joan Gallagher Petrini, and Doris Gerbatz), Katherine Odynski Leonard, and Squeek Steele. See photographs from their lives and the lives of their ancestors, hear their stories, and learn all about Virginia City from the historic halls of the Fourth Ward School!
