Replace with standard conventional motor and a fan relay. With some knowledge and understanding you can do a little re-wiring and it’s good to go. Done one recently.

I don’t have a problem with it but they do sell universal ecm motors and I would just think that by the time you buy the motor, capacitor and board plus take the time to wire it all in the process would be pretty equal.

Rescue makes some great universal X13 and X16 that are priced very well

I just replaced mine with the new 23V79 motor-ECM that replaced this obsolete one. $442 for the new motor from Supply House, on-line. Great ordering process & efficient shipping. Highly recomend.

That’s a great idea. Definitely the right way to go out of warranty. I’ve seen old trane XL20’s condemned and changed out due to the motors going bad because people didn’t want to invest that much into an old system.

I'm finna sign up, I was in HVAC for 5yrs rough installs and residential change outs then management in new construction, still didn't learn all the tech work to go on my own. Companies love to keep ya underground, I'm rdy to go on my own. I'm tired of working for someone.

Love to find a local HVAC tech who knows this stuff. Spent $1500 last year for a same brand swap on a 14 year old unit that otherwise works fine (cheap capacitors and cheesy sequencers excepted).

Johnstone has a replacement x 13 for pretty cheap. Probably cheaper than this board conversion and a psc motor

That quick swap is cool, but on a different model you need to play with the rockers switches to make it run correctly
