Story 1 - the first time I crawled thru a doggy door was at 22 years old. I surprisingly fit.

2nd story - "did I miss something?" Probably just bunch of red flags in this friendship.

Story1: TA for the dismissiveness of his feelings. NTA for what you did. He IS right, anything could have happened ones the kid was inside. However it did end well so he shouldn't be THIS worked up over it.

Story2: NTA. Last I checked, marathons are open to the public. She doesn't get to dictate that you can't do one. Then to decide she won't help you with post op because of this? You don't have a friend, you have a rival.

Story3: NTA. This was WELL in advance. He could have planned better. If it's about being married before the baby comes, that's some straight BS. I think everyone would be better off waiting when they are getting married around the birth of a child. The rush will often time cause resentments all around.

3. Agree Amber and Brian. The brother knew this trip was planned and should have waited a few weeks to schedule until his brother got back.

Story 1: NTA. Core memory! He sounds like a great kid and it sounds like OP knows him well enough that she can comfortably give him that small very important task. I understand her husband feeling worried especially since he wasn't there and "climb through a window" sounds dangerous out of context, but seeing the kid happy and not injured should at least indicate that nothing bad actually happened. There is a place for worrying like he does but there's also a way to worry too much and end up smothering the kid. Hahaha, loved to hear the Brian story.
Story 2: NTA. Running is her thing? Guess nobody else is allowed to participate in the marathon then. Honestly, it sounds like she's being a poor sport. And now refusing help with post surgery, how petty.
Story 3: NTA. OP planned and made arrangements for the trip a long time ago. He can't be expected to cancel at the chime of wedding bells. I like the Zoom speech idea as a compromise but OP's brother should find a different best man if he really wants a physically present best man for the ceremony. Another idea is not to stress so much about building the wedding party. Some weddings are just the couple, officiant, and guests, and that's all the couple really needs.

Story 1: NTA My youngest daughter could unlock any door, gate, and carseat in the blink of an eye. When we put (additional to the deadbolt) flip locks at the top of the front door, she figured out how to pull her highchair up as a ladder. When we put a padlock on the backyard gate, she simply learned how to scale the 6' fence. One of her older sibs had to ride herd on the carseat. OP was simply adapting to the situation.

Story 2: NTA It must be hard to run with a friend and have such a huge disparity in finish (or non-finish) times,  but the friend just has to accept that it's not a race, it's a marathon. Even the attempt in laudable.

Story 3: NTA That's the whole point of the Save the Date cards!

Tea Time! Diet Coke for me, EG for Brian? Oh love the pupil joke! EG yay!

Happy all those Ws day!
And break it to Daddy slowly.

Story 1. NAH. OP and her husband both have valid points. They shouldn't turn a molehill into a mountain.

Story 2. NTA. OP needs to reevaluate the friendship. The type of overreacting to a shared hobby doesn’t speak well of the friend.

Story 3. NTA. OP planned this trip well in advance and the brother knew about it. If he truly wanted OP to be there and be the best man he wouod have called and did a check with his availability before settling on a wedding date. OP shouldn't lose money and inconvenience his friends for someone else's event.

2. Not her friend, keep way ahead of her from now on. Running isn’t her sport alone but look at all those running around her. Something is going on that girls head. Good answer Brian, showing empathy for others is good

S1 NTA, as long as he was safe there shouldn't be a problem. Haha jeez Brian! But maybe tell him its only ok to do that at your house nobody else's lol.

S2 NTA, yta to themselves tho. Who signs up for a marathon when you need surgery? Without training?? But you cant gatekeep running. "I know i was mean but wait for meee" lol

S3 NTA, OP's trip was planned 2 YEARS in advance.

Haha

Hi Brian and Amber happy 🐫 day. I hope your day was great.
First story. Not the jerk. I would have done the same thing. That was a funny story Brian. Hahaha Hahaha

Second story.
Not the jerk. That's absurd to think that nobody else can run a marathon.
Next story. Not the jerk. That's a very long time to plan a trip. Im sure he would loose a lot of money. And time off work.
Tea time I'm going to say Mega Mint

1. Nothing bad happened so why be so mean to his wife. I had my kid do that, I did that. Don’t sweat the small things and make a mountain at of a molehill. She could always call cops to help her if needed
