I remember on Christmas morning 2004 my dad told me “Santa forgot it back at the North Pole, it’ll be here any day now.”

The difference between the original DS and the DSLite is insane. They are practically the same except for hardware, and only 2 years apart but the original feels ancient while the DSLite has held up pretty well. I got my Lite in 2008/2009 (after the release of the DSi) and knew a lot of people with one, but I’ve never met anyone with an original DS. I didn’t even know they existed when I was a kid

Oh how I remember mine, I was going into the Army when these were revealed and when I finished basic, I bought one.

The DS served me well my full Army career, 5 straight years and a deployment.

Everyone is always forgetting this model exists, and I dont know why, yes the DS Lite is a legendary handheld, and the DSI AND DSI XL are also amazing, but the original DS is amazing too, it looks and feels a lot more premium, and it has its own little wrist strap, plus the GBA games don't stick out when you put them in unlike the DS Lite, its just awesome man.
