Ah! Part 2 is just as awesome as part 1! 🔥 For better or for worse, “Disciples of the internet” we are (you both have podcasts 😉), so I greatly appreciate the exhortation to true discipleship that comes from a group of believers walking the journey together and knowing the word of God through both Scripture and His Holy Spirit presence which speaks. Accurate copies of Scripture and the power of discernment of good and evil (as described in Hebrews 5:14) are indispensable for the maturity that will be needed to stand firm in the last days. I’m wondering if the American church needs to get ahead of the unraveling that will come re: the institutionalized and business-like model that is found in most denominations??? Would love to hear Eldredge pick Tom Wadsworth’s brain on that one! 😊

Thanks for another great discussion and for remaining true to pointing people to union with Christ as the most important thing! ❤

I don't think I can even say how much I enjoyed this. How life-giving.

At the 44:44 mark, John invokes the Holy Spirit's guidance when asking the question, "Where do You want to go?" How absolutely PRECIOUS and heartwarming to see/hear this out loud. Talk about discipleship...you just demonstrated it, right there. Demonstrating how we live a life of the monastic. BEAUTIFUL, utterly, BEAUTIFUL.

Thoroughly enjoyed this!
I have been watching Jon Tyson sermons for a year now. I recommended his church to a friend whose children are performing in New York theatre.
We live in the south.
Love and blessings to you both!!
I will be playing this for a third time. Thank you! This is so helpful.

Wow! Boom! This was an absolutely awesome conversation. Very powerful and deeply true. Thank you thank you for scaring this. I love the statement about if being spiritual malpractice to NOT orient and teach access to the Lord in such an intimate and authentic way. That is not a hyperbolic stdrment. It is immensely trye. I have been feeling ripped off by institutional religion for a long time and this is precisely why . Malpractice. They have not taught or brought the kingdom properly. Thank you for helping us all access this underutilized aspect and power of our faith.

So good. Discussing fragmented lives of men and how it can blow up their lives. Led me to pray and ask Father to reveal fragmented and uniniated places in my life. Life changing

Not enough space here to say, but I really appreciate the hope that was just bubbling up in your discussion, as well as you reminding us of the power of prayer! I really needed this encouragement today. Oh and another thing! Asking God to give us a heart for people-I think I have that, but do I really? Or am I just giving them the scraps tacked onto the end of my prayer time. Going to start practicing specific time to intercede for people... (your book Moving Mountains helps me a lot with understanding prayer) I know there were people who prayed for me and I am here today because of those selfless, loving prayers. Thank you for doing what you do WAH team!!

At the 22:17 mark, John talks about the "Spiritual Malpractice" and the High Cost of the Church's lack of Discipleship. BINGO. This resonates with me back to my childhood when I was unsure for so many years (until I went to a Christian college) to get my salvation settled "once and for all".

"Chaos and distraction over calling and purpose"!! Had to stop here and pray. SO MUCH OF THIS! Yes, God is moving, yes He is speaking, but what? I am in a period of waiting for myself and others to what God is doing, and I thought it was just my impatience that is the problem, but MAYBE distraction.

People tell me "You won't believe what's on the news." That's true, I won't believe it.

"Spiritual malpractice" WOW...Similarly...I was in a therapist training the other day where the training therapist, such a lovely sage of a therapist, stated that there are all kinds of books/papers on the the ethics of [personal/therapist] disclosure in the therapy training context was a teaching on using the therapy relationship for healing; not information/interpretation [epistemology] but being [ontology]. He made this comment, "I have never seen any material on the ethics of therapist non-disclosure." Like your statement here, I was sobered!!
