Alcaraz is the most fun player to watch!

Aaand Roberto didn't even play badly... Just Carlos was godly this day, what a performance

i think we all forget and underestimate how much the opponents have also adapted to him and what has changed mentally for someone like carlitos over the years - plus the new balls, courts and generally all the external changes

Bautista Agut: that was an awful match, hopefully people will eventually forget this ever happened

Three years ago, Alcaraz's forehand was more powerful and sharp..

Can’t wait to see Carlos in action in Indian wells ! Fun fact but the only 2 losses he has on 4 participations are against Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal no less

His forehand was better back then. Don't know what's happened to it this year. It's so inconsistent now.

One of the best matches he has ever played, absolutely focused on getting the job done. It’s rarely seen with him and he should maybe revisit these highlights regularly to remind himself how to deal with early rounds opponents in best of 3 matches. But I see he wants to have fun on the court and sometimes gets carried away, it would become boring if he was winning too many matches with zero drama :)

Not since the Maestro have we has such a young and complete player. Carlos isn't aa fluid aa Roger, but he's very young and needs to learn how to control his own aggressive style.

Maybe Roberto should try to play inside de spectators-aerea, making the angles for Alcaraz even easier to make….

No joke. This is probably the best match of Carlos' career. A very impressive RBA performance, just absolutely annihilated in the nuclear form Carlos was in this day. Looking forward to hopefully another edition of Novak-Carlos (unfortunately, in the QF again -- all due respect to the field, that's the real final...if the winner of that doesn't go on to win the tournament, it'd qualify as a massive upset). As a Novak fan, if he runs into THIS Carlos, I don't love his chances. Novak redlined at the Olympic gold, and while he can beat Carlos (5-3 H2H), even I can admit Carlos' peak is the highest in tennis history...only Sinner can come close, as a Djokovic clone with superior power.

Idd that they put Carlos on one of the outside stadiums

If they paint court as red color, you would think this is french open match.

this was prime alcaraz. 2022 alcaraz > 2025 alcaraz

Fame has tampered with Carlos’s career already… he went from locked in performances like this to going all out performance for crowd appeal a year or two later, and it’s hurt him in several events already. He has to find a space mentally where he’s prepared to problem solve and adapt or he will not be able to keep up with the likes of Sinner and other up and coming talents who are focused more on winning than putting on a show

Back then when Alcaraz just focused and played tennis. Now he wants to be liked, and entertain the audience with OMG shots, so he's bringing into his game variables that aren't helpful to him. I hope he gets back to just playing tennis. and not trying to get gasps, cheers, social media likes, and applause from the audience. Just good old tennis. When he does that, he'll be no.1 again.

Can't believe he has dropped down so much in the rankings. There must be something wrong in the thumb.
Correction: This was in 2022 not in 2025.

I mean, RBA hits the ball medium to medium fast pace on his “power” shots and gases himself. God-mode is disrespectful to God’s, AND Alcaraz is actually a great player. This performance is not impressive, it is normal for Alcaraz’s level against his opponents level. Hyperbolic much!

I said it three years ago and it's even more true today: By playing more or less the same game plan but by doing everything so much better he, Alcaraz, effectively ended B.A.'s career 😅

Let's see what happens at this year's IW. I am predicting Djoker defeats Alcaraz if they face each other.
