Some people commit suicide when they see no way out and feel helpless that no one is listening. This form of protest has been documented in the past, and though extreme, these people are crying out for help; unfortunately, Republicans and Democrats do not care as much.

The Consulate General of Israel to the Southeastern United States released this statement:

“We are saddened to learn of the self-immolation at the entrance to the office building. It is tragic to see the hate and incitement toward Israel expressed in such a horrific way. The sanctity of life is our highest value. Our prayers are with the security officer who was injured while trying to prevent this tragic act. We are grateful to the city of Atlanta’s law enforcement and first responders for all they do to ensure safety.”

A fruit seller in Tunisa whose weight scales were seized by the police set himself on fire and started a revolution. He was not a terrorist. By definition terrorism is a violent political tactic that instills or is intended to instill fear in the population. How can self-immolation be called terrorism?
