Understand a 25% Tariff on all goods imported to the USA is on the cards for today. This will increase prices of all imported goods in the USA unless the foreign manufacturer is happy to reduce their profits by 25% on goods sold, and I can't see that happening can you ?

I guess I'm kind of lucky in that the gear I need, to do the very best job for my purposes, is not "the most expensive gear". For instance, I don't need, or want a super fast lens. I need the versatility of a zoom. Not that the 200-800 is exactly cheap, but even as poor as I am, I was able to buy one, and will probably buy another one soon. Then, as for cameras, I had the $4K R5 (when I bought it) but as it turns out, for what I mostly shoot, I do better with the "cheapy" R7's. I wouldn't care if the R7 Mk II were $2500-3K > IF it included LOTS of big upgrades.

Canon already raised their prices here in UAE since last December.
Example Rf 600mm f4 is now at least 1000$ more.

Irony is they claim it on s, while the final price is 800-1100$ more than previously sold

Let's see how other manufacturers are going to cope with this new situation. I doubt it's only Canon who's going to raise their prices. Otherwise, it would be a very bad situation for Canon.

This is really sad news for photographers. Fortunately, I have already purchased the R5 II and all the essential RF lenses. With the ongoing tariff war and inevitable price hikes, my GAS will be under control and I won’t be buying any more gear for the next four years, at least until the Orange Menace is out of the picture.
