I've been soloing since 1980 lol
In the dm guide adnd there are Dungeon generators ..random encounter tables ...treasure tables...etc etc. Solo was always an option. 😉

Thanks for all the great information and explaining it all, really appreciate it. Was never aware that you could do solo RPG.
I used to play D&D (old school) in the 80's with my buddies. Really miss playing. Not enough friends to get together anymore and everyone is scattered around my state. I was the one that brought all the miniatures to our games and always interested in creating some terrain, but never did. Now I want to try that. Just got back into painting miniatures lately also. Have to look for the books you mentioned.

I agree with all your philosophies so much, with all these new mobile and mmo games online where it's all geared to get the consumer to purchase more more more. Loot crates, dlc, expansions, etc. I used to enjoy video games a lot but they are starting to get very stale these years. Occasionally there's a good one, but why get sucked into that world where I'm playing a game where ONLY the few programmed things with so many restrictions can occur, versus a tabletop roleplaying game of my choice where anything is possible? I am learning to solo to get better at GMing and to have fun on my own making my own stories!

Skyrim is a great electric rpg because there is a Maine story but also hundreds of side quests.

I dont really know how I ended here, but nice video. I began to play tabletop rpg around 1991. I never really played or liked D&D. I was more into MERP and all the games of Chaosium( RuneQuest, Cthulhu, Stormbringer...) After a long break I am back with my friends in a private place where we play with a depth of stories, drama and acting never imagined back then. I really enjoyed game-books in the eighties. and I play sometimes pc rpg games. But I didnt know there was a public for solo RPG. In any case, I guess it is more related with the game-books and videogames experience(or even writing literature) than with real Role Playing...wich needs human counterparts. All that said, as I enjoy writing and creating worlds, maybe I give it a try.

Hey Mr. Dip, another good beginner RPG is Ancient Odysseys Treasure awaits. Its more of a dungeon crawl, but with the expansion, you also get wilderness encounters.. pretty cool little game.

I come from playing World of Warcraft alot, but have gotten tired of it over the years. I'm really excited about the prospect of creating and playing in ones own adventure and fantasy world. The biggest obstacle to me has been figuring out where to start lol. I'm going to go with the Basic Fantasy book you recommend, i like the idea of having more creative freedom in terms of character creation. Thanks for the video! Really detailed and helpful to those of us without much experience in this field of gaming :)
