My aunt is a flight attendant. Be warned: touching an attendant can get you put off the plane and/or banned by the airline.

Blankets and pillows are usually by the door so just grab one on your way in.

Feeling nervous or scared, talk to the attendant, ask any questions you have AND let them know you are nervous/scared. They will do what they can to make you more comfortable.

Always remember flight attendants are people too. Treat them with respect and mind your manners. The more pleasant you are to them, the easier their job is.

Something, I always do is, to fold the seatbelt over the seat as I find it before I leave the row. It can help to speed the turnaround. Normally have a window seat. A frequent flyer, and still watch the safety drill. Cabin crew should be renamed as "Cabin Safety Officers" which is their primary job.
