I live in Iowa and went through the derecho of 2020. We lost power and gas for one week where I live. My Coleman camping stove came through for me cause charcoal was hard to come by because all the stores were closed due to either damage or no electricity. I had plenty of propane tanks and having at least one hot meal a day was a real moral booster during that time. I didn’t have to throw much meat out either cause I was able to cook it. I invited neighbors over and we all pitched in and fed each other so our food wouldn’t spoil. I actually met some really cool neighbors and made some new friends thanks to my Coleman camping stove.

FLAME CONTROL FIX:Take the knobs off, then the square nut behind them, then unscrew the valve, wipe the horrible factory grease off the valve and inside the hole where the valve screwed into.Put new silicone grease on rubber o-rings of valves.Put back together and you now have amazing flame control all the way down to the tiniest flame for simmering or med flame for slow cooking.Improves the stoves performance 100 percent and only takes 10 mins to fix with a screw driver and some grease.Tip:after you take the nut off then screw the knob back on and use the knob the unscrew the valve.

Great review. Just picked up one of these for emergency use around the house or on camping trips. I was motivated to buy it because we were affected by the power outages during the Texas winter storm a few weeks back. I’ll never be caught without a decent stove to heat food or water again!

I just bought one at WalMart and the knob adjusters are a DREAM COME TRUE! WAY different than yours! I can adjust it from just a whisper of gas, all the way to full blast, and all points in-between, and all I've got to say is THANK YOU COLEMAN for LISTENING, because it seems that they fixed it! And it cranks out the heat, and boils water very quickly.

Of course, old stock may be in some stores. But all I'm saying is, I love my Coleman stove because the valves are GREAT!

My 1st Coleman stove was a "white gas" type. It served me well for several years. Then I bought the stove described here. I have nothing bad to say about either one. Thanks for the review. This booger is a pleasure to camp with and would no doubt be a lifesaver in an emergency.

The local sporting store where I bought this stove did not know about an adapter. The stove has sat in the garage for about 10 years solely for emergency use. I'm glad to find this video. Ordering the adapter today. Toting the stove and propane tank for a camping beach vacation.

Just picked one up to use on a beach camping trip. Burgers came out great and fast as did the breakfast sausage. The wind was blowing at 20mph. Very happy with the stove.

A nice thing to have on hand for an emergency kit.

Also another thing when you’re lighting these you always want to bring the gas to the flame so when you try to light it like your lighter put the flame near the burner and then turn the gas on that Safer than turn the gas on and then trying to bring the flame to the gas

After the recent snowfalls in Texas and Louisiana I decided to get one of these. We never lost power but I was thinking about what if we did...and I decided it was time to prep up. I used them in Scouts many years ago and looking forward to having my own. Great review!

Love my Coleman. I did a little modification that I am totally happy with. On the regulator where the bottle screws in I removed the entry pipe screen that is in the hole which allows much more flow of propane. It cranks now when boiling water. Actually heats water faster than my kitchen stove. You have two options after drilling out/removing the screen. You can remove the small pipe from regulator with a small socket - I forget the size. I JB welded a small cut finishing nail (cut to maybe a quarter of an inch long) into the hole leaving at least half of the hole area open. This need to be there in order to make contact with the valve in the tank and open it when screwed in. It should be flush to the entry hole. Another option is get another pipe off of an another device that does not have the screen. If you don't have one you can buy a cheap refill adaptor or hose that will have the same little pipe without the screen. Look around. Either way this makes a lot more propane flow which is restricted by the screen. I have had zero issues and a lot more enjoyment having this stove crank out the heat going this approach. Thanks for the video.

Excellent review, very clear on the pros & cons, very good demonstration. I appreciated that your knowledge of the stove, is EXPERIENTIAL, and not intellectual. Real world experience is ALWAYS the best. I need/will get one of these. Thank you.

A couple of tips for you:
The wind regulators are also designed to reduce or increase the heat ( slightly ) as an added bonus. The further out to decrease the heat, the closer in to increase the heat.
Make sure the first burner, the right burner, has heated up sufficiently before you attempt to start and light the second left burner.
Trust me this will help.

This takes me back to the old days when I used to go camping with the Boy Scouts. In the morning our favorite thing to make was pancakes, some of them were big others had very. . . interesting appearances. Looks easy enough to use and since my family is moving to a place with a lot of outdoor opportunities maybe I'll pick this up, thanks!
