Family Mediation Demo

This demonstration deals with a child custody dispute between parents with different nationalities.

Case summary: Egle, a Lithuanian national, and Giovanni, an Italian national, married on 27 July 2003 and resided in Bologna (Italy). Their daughter, Lila, was born on 05 January 2005. In the course of March 2005 the spouses began to live separately, Lila remaining with her mother. It was then that, according to the order for reference, divorce proceedings were initiated before the Tribunale of Bologna (Italy).
Giovanni wants to sue Egle before an Italian judge in order to obtain the custody of his daughter.

This an excellent demonstration of what goes on in mediation. The roles were well dramatised by the parties. I particularly liked the way the mediator handled the impasse. However, the mediator's voice was hardly audible. Listeners are more interested in the probing technics and not so much the response from the parties.

These 2 characters are not that emotionally involved and of course thats because its acting. In real mediation, it gets really intense and its F--K you this is what im asking for. I've been to mediation a few times. sometimes the other party wants to Kill you and im not joking and you might feel the same way. In a real

Good opening statement but this is what you may also hav mentioned, You never mentioned the possibility of a caucus, the ground rules were limited, you never mentioned confidentiality and its limits, that is why the client asked the qeustion on the confidentiality

Mediators main responsibility is to be neutral. Telling people how to behave, validating who has it hard and using private sessions to shut down contentious conversations is NOT neutral.

I thought this was a bout a child the couple nor the mediator speak little about the chld. Im not sure why their history is important. thumbs down in my opinion
