Like you said, over 600 mile combined range that not only eliminates range anxiety but you can stop and fuel up anywhere in less than 5 minutes. The RAV4 plug-in is such a practical car, the only time I'd buy a Tesla would be to use as a backup vehicle and power storage for the house.

Cory, Really applaud you for bringing onboard new engineers like Jack and putting him in front of the camera. It can be a tough number in front of an audience and not every engineer has the requisite skills.

When you live in a winter climate country where the temperature can fall to -15°C to -20°C having a spare tire when you are out in the middle of nowhere that could be the difference between life and death.

MSRP for 2021 RAV4 Prime XSE is $42, 890 including destination charge. Production has been very limited for US market. Dealers are asking way more than MSRP. Direct order from manufacturer with MSRP price would be fantastic for consumers.

Fun fact: The RAV4 Prime is actually a tri-motor design similar to the Plaid. In this case it's one rear electric motor for the rear wheels, and two electric motor generators in the eCVT powering the front wheels. So in EV mode, it's tri-motor powered. I don't think they are carbon sleeved like the Plaid though LOL

The trunk open/close button on the trunk lid is probably there to prevent the trunk closing on your head. Putting it on the trunk lid allows for more head/ body clearance before trunk closes.

This is the vehicle i'd love. I could drive 90% of time in electric and still use it if i want to take a long distance trip. Plus this thing will do light off road duty should i need to. The problem with so many EVs is they have no ground clearance.

Had one for only 10mos but very impressed with build quality and power train. Smoothly moves between modes, lots of power, and none of the numerous Tesla issues with a significantly lower price (10k less when tax rebates factored in). Agree the display is circa 2005, and lighting is weak (but can upgrade those plus filters easily), and my Audi Q5 definitely drove smoother, but my wife intimidated by EVs loves it too. Getting 36mpg in hybri mode, plus 38 (dead cold of winter) to 52 mi electric, and I have the 2.5hr charging time. No b/s on mpge vs say Tesla's hyped #s. Easy to find service. Also great battery warranty and extended it to all mechanical parts so fully 10yr/80k for an extra 1k cost. Looks good, will work for us 5± yrs until battery tech improves.

We bought two SE Rav 4 Prime. If you are ok with cloth seats and ok radio save $9 k

After $7, 500 credit we paid $36 k

You need to be in hybrid mode for the quickest 0-60 mph acceleration time. It's quick!

RE: Grab handles
You could have grab handles on both sides and be even cheaper by having molded indents in the trim plastic. Admittedly a proper wrap your fingers around handle feels nicer, but you still have to swap to pushing down on the outer door to finish closing when the autoclose packs up.

With pure EVs being so good I really don't understand this product for 50k. It seems like a lot of complexity that doesn't need to be there.
