I place my crestie into a ventilated box with a cricket when I feed him, he sees the movement of the cricket running and always pounces on it.

Your crested gecko doesn’t HAVE to eat insects. If your worried or have this problem, make sure to put the insects in your geckos cage so they eat it on their own. I hope this helped!

Thank you So much!!! My Crested will not eat them. I have smashed the bug, and added the juices to the Pangea. The Pangea does have fly larvae….but I want her to get all the benefits of the whole insect. I will try this tonight. Thank you!!!! 😊😊

THANK YOU! My crestie is 14 years old and from what I can tell, she hasn’t ever eaten insects (before I got her a couple months ago). I’ve been sitting with her for up to 45 mins just trying to get her to eat an insect but she always just moves her head away. What’s strange is that she always licks her lips and moves her head in a way that she can see the insect but she never actually goes for the bite. (She’s only ever eaten for me 1 time). She won’t hesitate to eat her fruit mush or small peices of banana as a treat once a week or two. I’ll try this next time, thanks so much lol

My geckos feeding response is ridiculous. I have to leave my hand a few inches away from him for a few seconds before picking him up every time so he doesn’t bite me thinking he’s getting some insects 😂

Additionally if you hand feed them ever you can dip the roach in the sauce a little to season it, my gecko had a poor feeding response but eventually i trained her to have a strong response

I have a gargoyle gecko. She loves to hunt crickets in her enclosure. I put two in every 3 days or so. Be sure to seal off any crevices not accessible to your gecko though

That’s a good tip! Mine only eats insects if he sees them walk around so I usually put him in a separate container with a few crickets. The’ll be gone in secondes haha!
