I worked as a correctional officer and walls, bars, and barbed wire does nothing to keep drugs, weapons, and other contraband out. I hated working with corrupt officers I knew were bring contraband in we only caught one of them the rest quit shortly after.

I'll tell you the reason they don't block cell phone and Wifi reception in correctional centers so that inmates can't use the smuggled cell phones to go live it's because then the prison guards and the prison staff would have to give up their privilege of watching YouTube videos during shift and actually search the inmates for weapons and cell phones with their time

Man those "shanks" you can basically order them through the commissary. (They come a dime a dozen when you are running with your people.) Cell phones are considered a breach and they are sold or rented to inmates by a crooked jailer.
