I'll agree that the expenses are high, but if you're working in Switzerland, they pay crazy amount of money. So there it equates. Even after earning in Germany, for us Zurich was expensive in many ways.

In Switzerland you don't need to buy water. It has the best quality spring water for free everywhere. Locals don't buy bottled water. Just get your bottle. Also, look for Coop - good food at the supermarket. A bit expensive compared to other countries but still in Switzerland you get quality.

Funny story about Littering: I came to India and with my friends went to Goa, They had some nice toffee at the hotel reception counter, so my friends took some toffee, opened the wrap put them in their mouth and just threw away the toffee wrapper. I just looked at both of my friends, went picked up the wrappers from the floor and put them in the dust bin near the door. My friends, the hotel staff and everyone were so embarrassed. My friends did not say anything. after that, We went to many places including trip to Vietnam with the same friends, they have never littered again - at least in front of me. 😀
