The mechanical ones with the fan in the housing is true white noise. But you have there is electrical noise that mimics white noise

Two of my snooze machines have had problems after less than a year of use. The touchscreen function stops working properly. For $100 noise machine it should last way longer than a year.

I’ve been listening to a sound machine ever since birth even tho I can sleep without one I still sleep with one bc I feel more comfortable by listening to a sound machine. (I mainly listen to white noice btw even tho I’m like 13 now)
