The Ego engine is aging, but for anyone hoping for Unreal for 25 or 26 forget it.

I read an article not long ago and I think it was from Overtake btw, where the lead developer basically said theyre happy with Ego because theyre familiar with it and have NO PLANS to switch engines anytime soon as they feel its "not necessary" 😂

I main iRacing these days, with a lot of AMS2 under my belt too. Never played the F1 games much. I tried 24 and for the first time it feels like something I might actually stick to as a casual single player title. The cars feel a lot more like cars than they did in 22 and 23 for me, and like you said, at a non-esports level, the handling is usable. I play in VR with a Quest 3 which also seems to have been improved since 22 and 23.
Definitely gotta give it a few more tries before I commit to it, but first impressions are decent.

Its the first time since 2016 that I will not be buying a new game. I played the beta and the handling is just not good, unless they fix the whole game, its a pass this year for sure. I'm sorry, but when the first thing you advertise for a new game are skins and liveries rather than new features there is something really wrong there. I really highly doubt it that a patch will fix that. On beta the tire models didn't work correctly, you could literally lock up every single corner, drive as agressive as you can, and still be faster than proper driving. I don't know if its just me, but the ffb feels really damped compared to last years game, defo less details in it. Since 2021 game I have a feeling that the only major thing that changes is the price increase for less of a game, EA trying to squeeze micro transactions where they can. I feel like a sport with such fanbase and heritage does not deserve the treatement that EA gives the game. I'm not mad, just really disappointed.

I got 21 and 23, liked the story mode and felt the gameplay was decent enough, will probably wait for 25 and will be interested to see 26 with the regulation changes in the game reflecting the real sport 😄

People going, ill stick with acc or iracing.

I racing yes has a great physics system it also costs a pretty penny and has quite dead lobbies for the merc. And acc is exclusive gt cars. F1 games still have there purpose, yes they dont feel as nice as your typical simulator but they bridge the gap and serve a purpose and tbh the immersion for an f1 game is unmatched. Liking the new handling changes on a wheel tyre models are improving also.

Almost everybody smashed the F1 24... Despite that..Im Really enjoy it..have a blast driving on a sim setup..better than F1 23 and 22 imo.. love the handling..And love the carear mode ✨

Great review, but my main concern is *it looks absolutely atrocious* in the video. It looks so much worse than the otherwise gorgeous F123! 🤷🤷‍♂🤷‍♀

Ea is in a bind. They CAN make great handling with a wheel, but with 90% of users on a pad they stuck somewhere in the middle if you try to please both you will please no one

Am i the only one who like the handing? It’s weird at first but after a few laps and with a good setup it feels great.
I obviously haven’t driven an f1 car but it feels more realistic. Snaps of oversteer feel a lot more natural and the way the car moves in general also feels better.
But the weird extremes the handling allows aren’t good and the curbs need to be changed as well

Everyone saying it is undriveable and the handling is bad but i must be missing something, brakes felt weird for 20 mins then tbh it feels fine.. Nothing wrong with it at all lol. Playing on wheel tried pc and xbox, think people making a fuss over nothing hahaha 😂
