My friend saw this at Sundance last year. She said it was the scariest movie she'd ever seen. I'm not expecting it to do that for me personally, but that does give me hope that it's going to be a good horror

Why the hell am I so unnerved by the freaking promotional material? This should not be so frightening to me. Seriously though, I cannot wait for this movie, I am beyond excited for it. If its fright levels live up to the promotional material this'll easily be a horror film for the history books.

While most mainstream horror films are focused on getting the audience to jump out of their seats repeatedly, indie horror films like The Babadook, It Follows, and most likely this are true horror films that really get to you. So hyped!

This is how a trailer should be! Show enough that gets me interested and thinking, vague enough that I have no clue what's going on, so I must see it!

I have noticed a few people saying they are unimpressed by this movie trailer, but in reality they just like the trailers that give away all of the content such as story, characters, etc. where as this movie trailer's purpose is to simply give you chills and make you nervous (which it does for me) I believe this movie will be the next Exorcist and will be amazingly horrifying. While most people are used to the jump scares they do not realize what true horror is. True horror is not a scary face jumping out from the screen, but is actually more. True horror requires an eerie or dark atmosphere (obviously provided in this trailer), another key element is people not even trusting their own loved ones that they birthed or raised (hints in this trailer) and the final piece to a great horror film is an atmosphere which is like no other, which is used in "The VVitch". So people who say that these types of trailers are not horrifying, or unnerving in anyway and who say this movie will be bad, are technically wrong. Since this trailer portrays all elements that is required for a good horror film. But we are people so we will be entitled to our opinions, and some people prefer the cliche, jump scare every now and then scary movie, but if you are a fan of true horror, you find trailers and movies like this, mouth watering.

guys please... watch first (main) trailer, it explains this film much more. In this trailer it looks like the "witch" is that goat or children or idk what. Go watch the main trailer, there you will see what is this film about.

Btw. no dumb jumpscares, no possesed child doll, no footprints... It looks like really good horror movie, without those clichés. Even critics say that it is perfect. I am definitely going to see this.
