A previous turtle I had would come up onto a low deck to my sliding patio doors when it was feeding time. He would stand on his back legs and scratch on the glass, like my dogs did when they wanted in. Turtles 🐢 have lots of personality.

I had a female redfoot tort for over 35 years. I got her in 1968. She had full run of my kitchen, she was never kept in a box. She was paper trained, ate out of my hand and loved being rubbed on her head. Every year I took her to a local library during their summer reading program for kids. Her name was Studebaker. She also slept with my cat, Motor City Kitty for about ten years. She was my baby girl.

I had a turtle once. He loved when I touched his head. He event went so far as to stretch his neck as far as he could get so I could pet him there. He often fell asleep while doing that. I miss him so much, but he's in a better place now (literally, we took him into a turtle park, where he lives with other turtles. he was getting way too big).
