I feel so bad for Petey though. He got left by his own dad at a REALLY young age and as his mother died, he found no comfort and just a cruel world. He grew up as a cruel person, eventually cloning himself, abandoning his OWN SON and realising.. He'd practically did the same thing as who he hated most, eventually regretting his actions. He picked his own son back up and raised him as a good father, finally finding comfort in the world. He Desurved SO MUCH BETTER. His dad was a prick. I love him. Besides from my VERY *sniffle* emotional speech *sniffle* this animation ATE!! It depicts his character so well!

Random rant here: I've seen a part of the dog man fandom overhating on li'l petey but here's the thing, li'l petey's character is literally an important aspect of the dog man franchise to me bc he's literally petey if petey didn't had such a horrible childhood, if grampa wasn't such an asshole petey would've turned out like li'l petey and people like petey bc of his complex character

while li'l petey is a reborn part of petey from zero and the redeemed petey is trying his best to fix the part of him that was broken years ago and li'l petey plays an important role in his healing process by giving li'l petey something that he never got and have someone to love once again after his mom

When I read the comics for the first time, I was SHOOK that my favorite series about a silly mutilated dog and a cat with no clothes and a clone was actually about BREAKING GENERATIONAL TRUAMA. I cried. A lot.
