How Typhoons Are Named #shorts

Have you ever been curious about the naming process of powerful weather phenomena like Typhoons, hurricanes, and cyclones? These natural disasters are assigned names alphabetically, using multiple sets of pre-existing names. In the Philippines, known for its frequent typhoon encounters, the first typhoon of the year acquires a name commencing with the first letter on the list, often starting with an "A," followed by subsequent typhoons designated with names beginning with each consecutive letter, like "B" and beyond. This cyclic process continues until the following year when a fresh set of names comes into play, repeating the sequence.

Throughout history, the Philippines has faced several famous typhoons that have left indelible marks of devastation. For instance, Typhoon Haiyan, internationally known as Typhoon Yolanda, was one of the deadliest tropical cyclones ever recorded. Other notable typhoons include Mangkhut (Ompong), Bopha (Pablo), and Haima (Lawin), all notorious for their catastrophic impact on the region. On the other side of the globe, hurricanes in the Atlantic region have earned their infamous names through years of destructive power. Names like Katrina, Sandy, Maria, Harvey, and Irma have become synonymous with deadly and devastating natural disasters that have reshaped landscapes and communities. The fields of meteorology and weather monitoring continually strive to understand and predict the behavior of these mighty storms, aiming to minimize the loss of life and property caused by these powerful forces of nature.

It's like a battle for the Name, whoever is the strongest typhoon keeps its name.

"How many seasons do you have Philippines?"

Philippines: Well there's two. One season is the months where people have to spend their days and nights suffering from scorching heat of the sun, and the other season is probably where the people need to memorize the the names of the incoming storms and typhoons

The first typhoon i could remember is Reming. I was just a kid then, but I remember the roof of the house behind ours flying off into the sky and our metal gate being thrown open and almost falling on our car
