Показать описание
We continue to look for answers in the death of a woman, who was located along a northeast Calgary pathway earlier this week.
At approximately 4 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, we were called to the Nose Creek Pathway located near the 1100 block of 32 Avenue N.E., for reports that a passerby had located a woman who was believed to be in medical distress.
The victim was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition. She has since succumbed to her injuries.
The identity of the woman was released as 23-year-old Jelisa MASCHKI of Calgary. An autopsy was conducted earlier today, Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, by The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, however, Jelisa’s manner of death remains undetermined.
At this time, it is unknown whether Jelisa was the victim of an assault or a tragic accident.
“Although we are only a few days into this investigation, we currently have very limited evidence and are relying on the public to help put the pieces together,” says Staff Sergeant Sean Gregson of the CPS Homicide Unit. “We are exploring all possibilities in this case with the hopes of providing answers for Jelisa’s loved ones.”
Anyone who believes they saw any suspicious activity along the Nose Creek Pathway in the early morning hours on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, or who was in recent contact with Jelisa is asked to contact police by calling 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
