Tenzin got combustion explosioned and got up. P'li is heat seeker rather than a super massive bomb, but she still overpowers earth bending and nearly KO'd a dragon in one hit... so yeah... Tenzin is pretty tough.

I’m sorry, but the amount of damage Tenzin took while fighting the Red Lotus can be compared to Aang after Azula shot him(probably a little less just because a spiritual injury is probably worse than a physical, but still)

I honestly dont think Kuvira was that powerful. Always felt she was overrated.

I think I have to disagree... Respectfully tho, because I could see Tenzin winning too. He is a menace and we know he excels more in the bending and less in the spiritual.

My problem is that it is missing something very important. Their morals. Airbenders are pacifists and while I'd peg Tenzin as someone who'd go against that (a.e. for his family), I have to assume that he wouldn't go all out. Airbenders also lack the possibility to effectively bind someone with their bending (like earth shackles or ice), which leaves him at a serious disadvantage.

Kuvira would absolutely go for a klll. She'd also fight dirty. I wouldn't put it behind her to have some lackey stand on the side lines threatening Tenzin's family (very effective way to make him stop) just to get her win. She on the other hand would pull a Caterina Sforza, if someone tried that on her.
