Founding member of the Council for Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA), the Environment for the Development of Africa (ENDA) and the Third World Forum (TWF). CODESRIA’s first Executive Secretary (1973–1975)
Founder of the World Forum for Alternatives in 1997
Having participated in all editions of the World Social Forum (WSF), from Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 2001 until last in Tunis 2015 during which his pacesetter contributions received public recognition and appreciation.
Author of several books published in French, English, Arabic and other translations.

The conference was edited by George Lee Kiu Chi, and produced by Global University for Sustainability.
