Looking over this later there were a couple things:

When quickly showing the AJAX we added urlEncode() and that should have wrapped the we had

The second was the filter on the bind - we would want to test if the val.type == "Label" then use data[key] = val.text;

With the STYLE we now can put Label:{} etc. directly in STYLE without using a type:{} organizer object.
