Pixel 6 Pro: Why I'm So Excited to Return To #TeamPixel

Well, it’s October – and you know what that means? It means we’re finally getting close to Pixel 6 time. As a guy who has been out of the Pixel game for nearly 2 years at this point, I am pumped. Not only is there a new Pixel waiting in the wings, it is a device that is actually worth getting excited about. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always been ready for each Pixel iteration over the years, but I’ve also dealt with the gut punches every year caused by early leaks that point to devices that with less-than-desirable characteristics.

Who can forget the Pixel 2’s terrible screen, the Pixel 3’s bathtub notch that served no real purpose, or the Pixel 4’s giant forehead that included facial recognition that simply never took off? And don’t get me started on that phone’s lack of a wide-angle lens when every other flagship on the market had one! Pixels have always had that “yeah, but…” hangup that have made the inevitable launches fall a bit flat.

But not this year. This year, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro look legit from top to bottom, without misgivings or compromises. This is the year I’m full-on ready to return to Google’s phone and for the first time in a long time, I don’t feel like I’m having to concede anything to do it. This year really does feel like the year of Pixel. Let’s get into why that is.

Been holding on to my pixel 2 XL for the longest time because I never really saw big upgrades/changes on the later models. This 6 pro is everything I've been waiting for!!

I have a Pixel 4a and really hope the "a" series continues. In CB terms it's like my Lenovo Flip 5. Built to a price point but no major gotchas. In fact both together are less than a flagship phone costs. The 6 is hopefully awesome, and in a few years what it has will come down to the a-series.

Well done 👍. I'm on a OnePlus 7 pro and still loving this device. I'm addicted to the non interrupted screen! I think OnePlus really messed up when they didn't keep the pop up camera as standard. Anyway, I'll be heading back to Pixel in 2022. Because OnePlus straight up "Settled" and started looking like Samsung's less cool cousin.

Still using my Pixel 2 XL, I almost bought the iPhone 13 Pro Max, but they dropped the ball by not including Touch-ID. The Pixel 6 Pro looks awesome and might finally be a worthy upgrade.

I finally made the switch from iPhone to android and I got a S21 Ultra and I already think my next phone would be a pixel cuz I've heard nothing but great things. I love my Samsung tho it's a great phone but I really wanna see what the hype is about with Google software

I can feel again the passion and excitment in you voice buddy and I get hyped too. I always had Android phones as I started my Smartphone phase and finally was able to pick up my first Pixel Phone (Pixel 5), beginning this year and can now even better understand what you talking about. I can pick a new work phone and currently I might switch from the IPhone 13, way to epxensive for a second mobile, for to the Pixel 6, depending what it will cost with business phone contract and how the lunch will be.

I Love my Pixel 4 XL and facial recognition is one of the things I was looking forward to when I got it. I use it everyday as my biometrics to get into my phone and I'm kinda bummed that they didn't bring it back more improved into the 6 series!! I'm getting the 6 Pro and I can't wait until next Tuesday
