For a budget version of Carnyx it's still decent

Celts would use different ratio of copper and tin to create different parts of Carnyx. That way they could tinker with the sound they wanted to get.

This was actually inspiration for the horn blare of the tripods in war of the worlds 2005

Funny but the tongue is supposed to be larger and self supporting so it basically floates in the middle. It's connected to a flat spring somehow inside. So when you play, it bobs up and down and makes the waw waw sound. And on some models the ears are extra bells to project sound.
