In "We're All Entrepreneurs Now: Risk in the Neoliberal Age," BISR core faculty member Raphaele Chappe examines the increasing displacement of risk from firms and society at large and onto individuals—be it via the marketization of health care, the introduction of 401ks, or the increase in contract employment. Why is risk being redistributed downward? Who benefits? Is risk, commonly considered a matter of private commerce, in fact a political issue?

The talk was given as part of the annual Night of Philosophy & Ideas (January 27th-28th, 2018), co-presented by the Brooklyn Public Library and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.
