Pros :

When you receive this bag is flat and compressed for shipping purposes and is deceptively small. Once you open it up, I found it to be impressively spacious.

Lots of Space  Excellent organization options  Extremely well thought-out  Excellent quality. 

Can be worn as a backpack which is excellent for traveling; at the airport, you pick up your bag, put it on your back and get to your vehicle. It works very well. It’s not the most comfortable backpacker and it wasn’t designed to be but for the purpose of hauling for short durations, it’s excellent.

Offers a large amount of space

Very tough bag; stronger and more durable than your average civilian pack. Also much better quality than you run of the military tactical style travel bags that are out on the market.

I wouldn’t say that it is military grade but if it was, it would weight at least 10lbs and would be overkill for most people. Without a doubt, strong enough for outdoor use, travel use, law enforcement and so on.

Footlocker design is very handy.

Lots of storage options, pockets and so on.  Lots of ways to carry

Light weight compared to many packs of this size  Excellent option for traveling use as long as the size fit your needs.

Excellent clam shell design – opens up and you are presented with all of you gear/clothing and so on.

I like the zipper pulls and the internal compartments, they come in handy for separating clean and dirty laundry for the trip home. Also like that the shoulder straps removed

Believe it or not, this pack is also hydration bladder compatible!  Excellent should harness system

Review Cons :

Can be a bit pricey-but you pay for quality so scratch that from the con list!

There are many zippered access points on this pack and only the main portion of the pack is lockable. I mention that for those who find that to be an important feature; I personally do not.

While technically the pack is the dimensions stated by the company, I have found that it is only to the measurements which absolutely stuff to the point where the zippers are stressed. Maxpedition states a width of 11” but it’s actually a few inches shy of that unless crammed and stretched full.

Summary :

This pack is ready to serve whatever needs that you have; may it be travel, photography/filming trip, hunting trip, etc

It’s an excellent quality pack and features some truly excellent designs/features. Can easily hold a weeks’ worth of clothing and other gear including my laptop and so on.

When service members deploy usually there duffel & kit bags like this one are all thrown on a truck together and when your on a bag detail to move these bags from the truck to aircraft cargo hold all thise handles would make it easier to grab at any angle and throw & mistreat it because your pissed you got put on this detail . Awsome bag

Your introduction is much better than their company's promotional ads, HA!HA!
In fact, sometimes I will buy something that are introduced form your video .
If I want to buy something, I will also look at your video introduction, because you will tell your feelings and the advantages and disadvantages of the product.
After all, the shipping fee from the United States to Taiwan are expensive!

I wish they had a rolling version. i have the discontinued roller from maxpedition. With a bad back I prefer a roller but like the options.

I love the maxpedition quality but I have a Yukon bug out duffel bag that I got for less than 100 almost identical in design. I wont say it's the same quality but it has held up very well for me over a few years of travel

That's cool because when I was in the Army I loved picking up my duffel bag and putting it on my back when I traveled through the airport.  Love that Bag.

I have thought hard and long about carry on. I got a mystery Ranch pop up 28. That was $300 for carry on. For blades & chebkables I got a 15 liter pack safe that I can lock. Later I'm tilt the pop-up 28 and sandwitch anything else I need to carry.

I think those smaller handles are more for maneuverability of the pack and not necessarily to carry. The thicker handle is in a position where we would carry a bag. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Nice pack, great review. Thanks Luke

Maxpedition does put out quality products but their prices reflect it; too often out of the common man's range. When shopping for a travel bag with backpack straps I looked at various versions including a Maxpedition and developed a pros and con list. The Maxpedition was well beyond the price point I wanted to spend. I found a 5.11 LBD MIKE for $100 and I absolutely love it and I bought a coyote range bag with it...both are perfect for aircraft travel without having to check in either bag. It just comes down to personal preference and economics. Great review, Luke!

TSA has opened my bag multiple times, and didn’t put the lock back through the zippers, I can pretty much know they’ve gone through my stuff by how they put the lock back through the zipper pulls. Lockable zippers do nothing in that case.

Actually a nice choice for someone like myself the way that I travel, though it might be a little small for me. I usually travel with a large duffel with a hard back and wheels, and I can pack it pretty good even for just a three day weekend. If it's something like a convention I invariably end up stuffing it full of stuff I buy at vendors and random swag! That Lyon's Tactical looks pretty cool, first I've heard of them. Going to check them out and I'll have to order something(s) from them to see how good they are. One thing I can recommend right away regarding the website is implement a good product filtration system. Nothing is more frustrating and drives away potential customer than not being able to find what you're looking for quickly and easily.

Sweet pack man! Maxpedition makes great gear! I've owned a few of their sling bags over the years and their attention to detail is amazing! I want to try out the riftblade or tiburon packs! They use seatbelt material for their straps nice feature! Tons of add on pouches aswell with their own molle webbing. Thanks for sharing! Hike on!

Awesome review. Not stoked on that grab handle on the front of that backpack. One good unexpected pull with that grab handle and a backwards fall I go.

If you like MAXPEDITION give VANQUEST a look. VANQUEST doesn't have a bag this big, but I like them just a bit better than the comparable MAXPEDITION bag because of the organization features.

you can lock all of the zippers. just use the hole at the end of each pull. there will be a small gap though.

Good review as always. The 'lesser' handles are not located at strong points on the bag- more for occasional use and convenience so they don't need to be comfy. I'd like zipper locks too but TBH any thief knows how to bypass a locked zipper so their value is questionable. What I do is use tiny ty-wraps instead of locks on those in an unusual color- just as secure as a lock in reality. I could love this one if I could afford it, and it's rare you'll hear that from me. S+H
