Plant some sage, peppermint, lemongrass, rosemary, petunias, lavender or basil around the enclosures they are natural fly repellent and safe for the animals

Grow plants like lavender, rosemary, lemongrass and or eucalyptus trees. Your Emus will love eucalyptus they will feel like they are in their Australian bush. Eucalyptus oil spray works well too.

Paul, my best secret for keeping flies away is ladybugs. You can get them from almost any garden store and you dump them around the ground and they keep away the flies and the bugs. I have 42 horses and that is my best secret.

Hey Paul. A good homemade fly spray is : white vinegar, dawn dish soap, and water. It's 3 parts vinegar, 2 parts dawn dish soap and 5 parts water. And just stir it up until completely mixed. DON'T SHAKE IT. It's completely safe for animals and humans. Apply every 4 hrs or as needed.

I use Tengard SFR it works great for the yard. My buddy has learned that if you dilute it down you can safely spray your cattle with it to keep Flys off/away. Look it up it keeps alot of pests away.

When I used to have horses, cows, pigs and fowl. I would use Golden Marlin fly bait, the best on the market. And the more you clean up the manure, the less flies you'll have

Lavendar plants & other herbs help repel flies. Chickens will also take care of the flies.

To get rid of flies, you fill a clear plastic bag with water, drop in a couple of pennies, and hang it up where you want the flies to vacate.

One thing that may help reduce the flys is seting up fly traps where the drown in a bottle of sweet liquid and set multiple of them up around the farm

Wrap tape around your feedbuckets with sticky side out and most of the flys will get stuck to it
