I’m experiencing the same issue—random flashes for just a fraction of a second, and it happens across any app.

I also believe it’s software-related. I was considering taking my phone to the Apple Store, but after reading through this thread, it seems that might not be necessary. Hopefully, the data being collected will help Apple identify and resolve the issue soon.

UPDATE: went through an other thread here on Reddit, someone found out that turning off AOD fixes the issue. I'm going to try this myself and keep you updated; you might as well try it.
