Okay. But let me tell you something about that tile. I have both the tiles and apple tags. The tile is extremely slow in the process of updating you and real time tracking. The apple tag has a faster refresh rate and will show you the object moving way faster that the tile.

All I want to know is what the heck that clear wobbly bubble is at the start

Tile does not use GPS; It uses Bluetooth. It needs to be in Bluetooth range of your phone, or the phone of another Tile user in public in order to find the location.

Zojirushi is a Japanese brand. I’m not someone who cares much for items I own (so that extends to brands), but there are a few things in my life I value so much that I would be sure to replace them with the exact same model if it broke. One is a Japanese thermos. It basically has the same mechanisms as this one, except the lid screws off and becomes a little cup. There’s another part you can screw off but you’d only do that to put a drink in it. The main lid has a mechanism to open and seal the pouring part, it’s a small hole, and the lip is small but it’s still comfortable to use if you want to drink directly out of it instead of putting it in the cup. Another great thing is this, on the cap it says “upside down for cooling”, I translated it out of curiosity after years and didn’t know what it meant. But the next time I used it I had super hot tea inside, tried pouring it into the cup with the bottle upside down and guess what it was like the perfect bearable hotness to drink instead of cautiously sip. I think because the hole is small, if you tip the whole bottle upside down to pour out a hot drink… it’s kinda hard to explain but essentially it pours the drink in a way that it makes a bit of bubbling, it’s not messy it just exposes the drink to more air, and it cools down the drink a lot if it’s too hot. Now is when you find out I’m not trying to sell you something lol, I don’t even know what the brand is, I only know it’s Japanese because on the cap it has those instructions. Most of the other few items I have, the ones that I really value, are Japanese. The quality and thoughtful engineering is amazing

If you don’t live in a metropolitan area skip the tile. We put one on my dad’s keys because he forgets his phone in the car all the time but always remembers his keys. He had a medical emergency one day and was mindlessly driving around but left his phone at home. I tried to track his tile but it wouldn’t update with a current location. He finally came back to himself and made it to where a friend found him. I looked into it and like the AirTags it is based on how many other people have tile products. The ting is that a large portion of any city have some sort of apple product. No so with tile. I wish I had known that before I bought it. Also in order to use the find my phone feature the app had to open on your phone at all times. Tile is crap

One little tip is when you scrape the food with your knife turn it over on the opposite side so the blade does not curl and make it blunt

The Zojirushi "mugs" are amazing and they do keep things hot for so long that I sometimes have to leave the lid open for a while to get my tea to cool to a point where I can comfortably, and in a timely manner, drink it. I'll often find ice in them 24 -36 hours later (depending on the surrounding environment). My only suggestion is to go for the Stainkesst Steel Interior, unless they've improved their coated interior as I did hear read reviews of the coatinf flaking off after some time. But, that could also be due to the way the reviewers were caring for their mug. But, Zojirushi make amazing products, which also include some of the best bread makers and rice cookers!

The Victorinox Knife is incredible. Had mine for 7 years. Incredibly sharp and holds the sharpness for at least 7 months of rigorous use

Not just for beginner cooks, they use that knife in professional kitchens and in meat packing plants. It's a solid choice.

Specifically the Victorinox Fibrox knife, it's good for lightweight fruit and veg and some meat, but not great for heavy duty stuff like potatoes and bone in meats. But for $30 it's a great knife. The tile tracker is great too. For a water bottle go with Owalla instead.

Tile is shit because not only do you have to buy it, you gotta pay for a goddamn subscription. It’s almost the same price as an AirTag.

For the Tile, it is important to know it will not work in isolated areas. Tiles work just like AirTags. They ping off of nearby devices. However, they cannot ping off every phone for obvious reasons; rather only phones with the Tile app installed.

the Victorinox knife is definitely a great item. High quality steel that cuts and sharpens well at a fraction of the price of many other knives
