I'm subscribed to your channel. I recently retired and I need to exercise. I go in the morning to unused city racquetball court and for an hour I hit the pickleball against the wall to learn the nuance of the return; the timing, the bounce of the ball, the force required to effect the desired return...those basic elements. After 20 mins I'm sweating. I take a break; sip my ensure and get back to it. I Love it. This week I bought 2 extra canisters of balls so I can study my serve. This particular video was very helpful for my current learning level. Thanks.

Excellent video! Finally, someone explained the drop serve, feet placement, left arm drop, etc. Plus, using the core body turn to explode the ball forward. Nice!

I really appreciate the baseball pitcher analogy. As someone who played baseball for 27 years and is just recently getting seriously into pickleball, that example really clicked for me. I was a pitcher in college and for most of my playing career, and I've been trying a lot of different things to improve my serve, but I really think using similar mechanics to pitching may be what will be most comfortable for me. Thank you very much for the tips.

Hey Kyle, great video. I try to help new beginners and I want to do it right so your videos help a great deal. I see an uncanny amount of the time when we are all playing that if the server calls the serve while serving they miss the serve a ton, as you said they just aren't completely focused on the serve. I would add into your video to teach the "routine" as you outline it but also add in to be sure to take a breath, say the score and only after that begin your serve service. thanks again!

This is really good...
almost EXACTLY how i coach serves to new players..
don't forget to have them "speed up" with their stroke... sometimes they get to busy tryin to "aim" and not have the ball go out....
I say forget that, SWING and HIT the ball and it'll go in....

Glad you clarified the toss Had this discussion the other day in a rec Game. So as long as the contact is below the navel/ waist with paddle below ball and upward trajectory it is legal?
