Elvis Presley - Love Me - 9 April 1972, ES - On Tour outtake - Re-edited with Stereo audio
Показать описание
Originally recorded by Elvis at Radio Recorders' Studio One in Hollywood, on 1 September 1956, Love Me was cited by Elvis as being one of his favourite songs as he introduced it during his midnight show in Las Vegas' International Hotel on 11 August 1970. The 11 August performance, caught on camera by MGM, whilst filming for That's The Way It Is, was at least the third live rendition of the song after his return to live performing. This is taking into consideration the two previous renditions, known to have been performed during the Dinner shows of 28 August 1969 and 5 February 1970.
The song would become a permanent addition to the Elvis Presley set list from his Las Vegas opening show of 26 January 1971, originally as the first song during the 'oldies' section, as per it's placement in the set list during the Aloha shows. From 1975 however, it would become the standard song number three during Elvis' live shows, after See See Rider and the I Got A Woman/Amen medley, and it is known to have been performed around 650 times. This figure however, is almost certainly a conservative one, as that figure only represents absolute certainty through evidence by audio recordings and some newspaper reviews.
The commonality of the song in Elvis' live repertoire, would ordinarily make any live 1970's performance of the song of no particular interest to most Elvis fans. However, this outtake filmed by MGM for "On Tour" at the Hampton Roads Coliseum on 9 April 1972, sees Elvis takes a bra which has been thrown onto the stage, and place it in his head mid performance - priceless!!!
As with all of these videos, to get the most out of the re-edited audio, I highly recommend you use ear /headphones and turn the volume up as much as you dare!
