Thank you so much Luke Marion for teaching us how to grow. Wish I had found you 10 years ago when I first started my raised beds. God bless and protect you and your family, you are doing a great service to our country and our world. We should have never lost this knowledge!

I've been watching your "beginnger" videos and "broke gardening" videos for a couple of weeks. I've been wanting to garden for a while but always thought it was too expensive. I really appreciate how much effort you put into these videos. My grandfather used to garden over an acre of land and I wish I had paid more attention as a child to what he said and did.

Just bought this lamp at Lowe's for $39.98 on Feb. 11, 2022. Thank you for tips. I'll basically leave mine on during my waking hours, and turn off when I go to bed (for 6-7 hours). I am going to try to seed flowers, under it. Mostly Marigold and Bachelor Buttons, until it's safe to sit out doors. I am in Tulsa Oklahoma Zone 7B.

Great idea for a series. For a moment I was going to criticize recommending the light kit vs a more cost effective 4ft shop light fixture and bulbs (Twice the light at half the price!). However the moment I saw the included stand I realized how good this recommendation was because of simplicity. I had a flash back to trying to jerryrig something to keep my lamp the right distance from my fixture without proper planning, resulting in too much distance from the light, leggy plant starts, and stress if my setup was going to topple over. Keeping it simple for more consistent results and less frustration is the right choice to get people started. Keep up the good work!

Oh my word! I love the great instructions you give and so simple! I have watched several other of your grow light videos as well and you do such a great job getting us beginners going! Thank you!

I picked it up today at lowes $42 because it was all they had. this one is not nearly as bright as the other one I have, but it does have a sturdy stand and i was able to slightly tilt the light. Height is not adjustable, but I like the setup just fine. I needed an extra light for the explosion of seedlings that are too tender to plant out yet. NEXT DAY the small tomato plants sitting beside the unit were reaching for the grow light, not for the LED bulb aimed at them!!!

I have 4 of those exact lights. They are fabulous for a beginner or those of us with limited space. Can't wait for the next video.

😎 Thanks for the great video. This is so true about us wanting to be spoonfed! It takes years to have the ability to analyze what went wrong with our gardens! I’ve failed with tomatoes for 2 years and I finally figured out that I’ve been buying transplants that have (probably) been sitting for WAY too long in the nursery, getting root bound in their greenhouse until I’m finally ready to plant them after my last frost day. This year I’ve started my own indoors and I’ve eliminated plants that just don’t do well in my zone, and I feel like this year will be great!!!! I’m sure I will still learn some new lessons 😊. I love your channel. Thank you for the energy you bring to gardening!!! It is contagious 😊 😃

Hi Luke. I agree with everything you are saying here and appreciate why you are doing this for a beginning gardener, however I think the better option would be an ordinary two bulb 4 foot shop light with T8 bulbs. You can get this setup for about $5 less that the light you mentioned here and get much more coverage, from a square footage perspective. To get an equivalent area of light coverage, you would need 2 or 3 of these bulbs and significantly increasing the cost than that of the T8 shop lights. Gary Pilarchik did a really nice series on grow lights with a common sense approach. I would suggest anyone that wants to know more about this, check out his videos as well.

You sacrifice a little with the Kelvin on the shop light setup, but its not really noticeable at all. I have used those for years with a heat mat and timers and have had fantastic results. My plants thrive under these lights. Thanks again for sharing this.

I purchased this light system from my local Lowe's today to replace a Sun Blaster system. The sun blaster worked well but when the bulbs burned out I couldn't find replacement bulbs where I had originally purchased it from. Ferry Morse is a trusted, known brand and I like their products. Thanks for the great videos to help me have better luck this season.

Thanks so much for this. Starting seeds indoors for the first time and it is a little overwhelming. I am just doing a few plants so this light set up is perfect for me.

This video was super helpful! Not new to gardening but new to trying my hand at starting seeds indoors. I appreciate the spoon fed knowledge because you’re so right that there’s too many options out there and it gets so overwhelming and that’s not fun. One question is what size seed tray will that one light accommodate?
