The problem with Max's argument is that it's not based on adoption, but price. He assumes that bitcoin going to $100k will have some type of significance to adoption, but it won't. By the time btc reaches that price, you'll have a $5k ETH, $2K XMR, $3K LTC etc. People would have incorporated many other coins into their day-to-day transactions, so they wouldn't just reverse adoption just because bitcoin is $100k.

Bitcoin has two problems - scaling and "privacy/fungibility". Both come with a price and I do NOT believe in a "world dominating" crypto currency with some huge block size suffering decentralization. A single blockchain can not handle this. I rather believe in scaling through diversity. A 2nd layer like LN and grin will probably be used as well but even then Bitcoin ca not cover the needs of the world population. Take the 80/20 rule. 80% Bitcoin dominance among 20% of users world wide would be realistic.


P.S. Maybe it is this "winner takes it all economy" we got used to in the past decade. We cant think of diversity any more.
