This is My first Fire TV which arrived today; unboxing was a breeze. I mainly use ROKU but am liking Fire TV so much I may go with it from now on. Alexa voice remote is great!!! Love your little doggies by the way. Precious faces. I hope you continue enjoying your tv.

Is there a way to make the fire to “basic” without fire to component since I plan. To use my Roku instead? I don’t all the unnecessary bloatware on the tv if not needed. As soon as I plugged it in before I could find “input” to attach Roku it had already started downloading software 🤔

Can you show how easy it is to watch local channels? Can you use this just to watch local programming?

Here's a laugh for you..i pretty much sit in my kitchen/family room with my chromebook. Why? to be with my dogs. In the family room is a 46 inch TV. I don't watch TV. So, it plays classical music or blues for the dogs. When everyone leaves, I cast my chromebook to that TV and watch videos like yours and Dennis, Rusty, etc. on that TV and use the soundbar.

Otherwise, i could get rid of it and not miss it..maybe replace it with an old radio.

To laugh harder, in the main living room, there is a 43 inch TV that the lady uses to watch the Hallmark channel or to get her daily fear programming.

It looks like a nice device, glad you reclaimed space, glad the pups like it. Once I go mobile, the only thing i might want to get is a chromebook with a slightly larger screen..But since this one was free (HA!) - it will do until it dies.

I also have a late model kindle (5th gen) which i will keep until it dies. My phone is a samsung Galaxy S9 - I bought it..it's about 2 years old...I'll keep that until it starts to act wonky.

For a guy that used to manage large applications and whole room videoconferening systems...my tech needs are very minimal. Have fun gang!

Please get to the point. Don't waste people's time talking about your personal life, dogs whatever. You're supposed to be reviewing the TV not your surroundings or social status.
