🔴 COP27: World Leaders Summit | UN Climate Change

At COP 27, countries come together to take action towards achieving the world’s collective climate goals as agreed under the Paris Agreement and the Convention. Building on the outcomes and momentum of COP 26 in Glasgow last year, nations are expected to demonstrate at COP 27 that they are in a new era of implementation by turning their commitments under The Paris Agreement into action. The conference will take place from 6-18 November 2022 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. Heads of State and Government will attend the Sharm el-Sheikh Climate Implementation Summit on 7 and 8 November. A high-level segment primarily attended by Ministers will take place from 15-18 November.

The UNFCCC secretariat (UN Climate Change) is the United Nations entity tasked with supporting the global response to the threat of climate change. UNFCCC stands for United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The Convention has near universal membership (197 Parties) and is the parent treaty of the 2015 Paris Agreement. The main aim of the Paris Agreement is to keep the global average temperature rise this century as close as possible to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. The UNFCCC is also the parent treaty of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. The ultimate objective of all three agreements under the UNFCCC is to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that will prevent dangerous human interference with the climate system, in a time frame which allows ecosystems to adapt naturally and enables sustainable development.

A mineradora de alumínio está localizada em uma das áreas mais poluídas da floresta amazônica, e é investigada pelo lançamento de água de chuva não tratada no rio Murucupi (PA) em fevereiro de 2018.
Acusada de ter provocado um acidente ambiental água contaminada na cidade de Barcarena (PA).
O laudo do IEC (Instituto Evandro Chagas), do Ministério da Saúde, avaliou danos ambientais e riscos à saúde humana causados pela água contaminada que atingiu a região depois de um período de fortes chuvas na região.
Foram identificados não só os resíduos da lama vermelha mas também de cinzas.
Na região das comunidades que fizeram a denúncia, amostras das águas do rio Murucupi tinham níveis de arsênio, chumbo, manganês, zinco, mercúrio, prata, cádmio, cromo, níquel, cobalto e urânio, além de alumínio, ferro e cobre acima do permitido na legislação brasileira.

Portanto, a Noruega não doa nada de graça...é uma miserável parte de compensação por altíssimos danos ambientais onde suas mineradoras estão instaladas aqui no Brasil...Bolsonaro fez valer a lei...Quer dizer que cobram em conferências internacionais mas aqui poluem e muito.

This government that is now running Egypt is illegal and illegitimate because the term of its presidency of the Egyptian authority, which is 8 years over two terms, has expired.

The question here is how can the hosting of the conference be entrusted to an illegitimate and illegal government that does not have any legal right to run the Egyptian state???

Also, this government has the worst human rights file in the world... because of its arrest of 60, 000 journalists, media professionals and political activists on charges of freedom of opinion and expression.

The PM of Barbados Mia Mittley is spot on with all she said. She broght solutionsthat cna help poorer countries, while calling out the wealthier, larger ones too, asking THEM what will THEY do. Poor countries ready to do more, are literally being hamstringed by those bigger countries and banks (re financing and supply chains). Reform is required.

As a Pakistani, I want to say on behalf of all developing countries, we are just paying for what western developed countries did 200 years ago. it's them that they are responsible for global warming when usa was ranked 35 and india 22, through the industrial revolution they have augmented the world's economic in their country, now when developing countries are on wave to have industrial or manufacturing revolution, they are forced down to come down, no we will not step down untill you all western countries provide us sufficient funds like carbon credits and sustainable technology to help us implement SDGs esp 7 / clean and cheap energy. Renewable energy is way fwd. How wonderful to see all the peoples of different countries together, hosted by Egypt. I studied physics, I followed this topic since the fearmongering about GLOBAL COOLING of the 1970s - which was 100% real and spread by the UN, the NOAA, The Royal Society, Nature, Science, National Geographic, the NY Times, Times Magazine, The Guardian, the Aspen Institute - it was THE dominant discourse!
Not a single prediction by the climate hysterics has ever come true! They completely wrong, but they keep "correcting" their predictions to make it look like they were right.
Hansen, from NASA, who pushed for the creation of the IPCC, predicted in 1986 that NYC would be 5m under water by 2015.
Contrary to what this scam artist Guterres says, the sea level rise did NOT accelerate. There are numerous studies that find that it never exceeded the 0.39 to 1.59mm per year rate. About 1m per 1000 years!
Islands are NOT sinking into the oceans - there's study that found that 88% of Pacific islands GAINED LAND MASS over the last decades! Only 12% have been shrinking. The Maldives were supposed to be under water since 2015. They have been building new airports!
They told us in the 1990s that there would be NO MORE SNOW after 2010, except at high altitudes. We have seen SNOW RECORD AFTER SNOW RECORD, since 2014, WORLDWIDE!
Snow has fallen on the Sahara, twice. North Africa, the Middle East, even Saudi Arabia received snowfall. South Africa, Latin America, Australia and NZ have all seen RECORD SNOWFALL. So did all of Europe, Asia and North America.
In 2021, a new study claimed that California would not see any more snow and hence would suffer droughts. This year, California received TWICE the usual amount of snow! They have been DROWNING in snow.
They said storms would get worse. Go to the Colorado State University Storm Center, which gathers worldwide storm data: they found NO INCREASE IN STORMS since 1980. Just the usual variations.
There has been NO INCREASE IN EXTREME WEATHER whatsoever. They just hype every severe wealther event. We haven't seen anything as devastating as the floods, droughts and heat waves of the 1920s-1930s. In 1931, almost 4 million people died in China because of a flood. Paris was under water for 2 months, in 1910, much worse than the flood of 2016. London was under water in 1928. The Mississippi flooded multiple states in 1927.
From 1920 to 1940, 10x more people died of weather-related events than from 2000 to 2020, so we live in an exceptionally mild period!
In other words, their models are completely wrong and they try to scare you with imaginary hobgoblins!
