I've just discovered your channel and I've been binge watching your videos since yesterday. I love how commited you are to the Usage of products rather than just the purchasing of products which we've all gotten sucked into in the past 5 years! I looked up project pans videos to inspire me to use more of my collection because I really don't want to add any more stuff. I've put a moratorium on buying skincare, haircare, lip and face products and any cream/liquids makeup until I finish up a significant amount of what I have. I'm on a low buy for makeup but only if Im willing to get rid of at least the same number of makeup that I purchase. I figure if I have a 1 to 1 ratio in addition to a project pan, I can at the very least keep my collection the same size.

As always, I love geeking out with your makeup vids. Your presentation, selection and personal flair are FABULOUS! But allowing yourself an enormous selection defeats the purpose of a “capsule”. Can’t wait to see how this new project progresses.

I love the idea of this! Can't wait to see how this goes for you! I would do something similar if I had a larger collection. With lip products I do a shop my stash for couple of months where I pick some seasonally appropriate options. And then with eyeshadows I focus on those that I'm panning and also select a palette of the month. But other than that my collection is so curated, that I really don't get overwhelmed by it anymore. Which is great because that has been my main goal with panning, no buys and low buys I have done and with decluttering things I don't enjoy.

I got to say too that I don't watch too much fashion content on Youtube, but I do watch capsule wardrobes from really few selected people (like Signe from Use Less). I love the idea of capsule wardrobe and being mindful about your clothing purchases, but I do get quite a judgmental vibe from some minimalist creators. My dream is to have a more curated wardrobe with good quality pieces that I love, but because I'm working in a clothing store it's not realistic for me at the moment. I will say I don't buy nearly as much clothes anymore as I used to, but my work wouldn't be any fun if I didn't allow myself to buy any clothes. But the day I stop working in clothing store I really want to take a step towards wardrobe minimalism!

I would say that I sort of unofficially do this. I keep a lot of my makeup in the bathroom where I get ready, so I just change out the items I want to change out whenever I feel like it, but project pan items and item categories I don’t have that much variety in just stay in the bathroom. I do go through on the regular and make an intentional plan. For example, I have a short term goal to try and use up my fairest concealer this winter, and a long term goal to hit pan in my favorite shades in 5 palettes, which I then plan to declutter all 5 of by 2023. I need to get some palettes out of my collection.

I have heard of clothing capsules, but I never really understood what they were abt bc I'm not into fashion. I am very into make-up tho so I am glad to learn more abt it. Stay safe, Beautiful! I’m doing this but much smaller scaled and I attached usage goals to each one, then I rotate it out. But I can reach into my makeup collection for anything because I don’t want to feel too restricted. It helps me focus on my most neglected items and get good usage out of them
