sometimes that happens with the short hairs as well not just the Telogen phase. what about miniaturization in beard hairs? Does an exes amount of natural unwashed oil in your face damages your beard? The type that starts getting itchy

Beard hair loss sucks I shiver whenever I see black hairs on the sink but I smile whenever a gray hair sheds. I hate those!

I’m 70, haven’t shaved since 1968 = 50 years, but I cut n trim beard ‘as needed’, always ‘full’ but not ‘real long’ - about like your length generally …

I’ve noticed that for over year and half that my beard is getting very thin, can ’see thru it’ and looks like there’s no ‘short hairs’ ( like new growth ).

I’ve been noticing that hairs will sometimes ‘curl’ and I’ll pull them out - sometimes it ’s easy, sometimes not ….but now I’ve noticed that I can pull lots of hairs out very easily ! Not in clumps, just pulling on a hair and it simply comes out ….

Usually you’ll want to brush /pull out hair in the morning so you won’t end up with hairs on your shirt during the day, and I’ve noticed more hair in the brush. Also, will see hair that’s fallen out along the walls of my apartment (all carpet).

So, been searching for an answer …..

I lose around 30-50 a day. Does it still bother me? You bet. But, I just remind myself that every day I wake up and the beard is still there. The thing I think we forget is that they all fall from different places. We see 50-100 hairs in a clump in the sink and don’t realize that it’s 5 from this area and 5 from another and so on. It always seems worse when we put them all together in a concentrated area like the sink. Maybe this is silly, but I imagine if you were to throw them on the floor scattered it wouldn’t look nearly as much.

So if the hair loss is Premature like over brushing or scrubbing in the shower. Does that mean it still grows back. Like it just starts the hair cycle earlier then it would have on it’s own? Also when it does come out. Naturally in its life cycle can the hairs be short or long.

I am taking really good care of my beard and I found things that really work for me. Beard is really soft and well maintained. But I do have one thing that worries me. When I comb my beard one or two small pieces of hair comes on the sink. Not a full strand of hair but small pieces . Is that normal? THANK you
