Watch me do something really dumb with my Fatshark Dominator HD2 goggles. Also, I'll show you the mod that lets your face-plate fan run without having to plug in your balance plug.

Instructions unclear; flashed betaflight 3.2 to my Fatsharks and then they failsafed, cut my finger off, and flew away.

I literally started planning this **EXACT** mod in my head after commenting on Stu's review of the E100 goggles this morning, saying how I wish I didn't have to plug my fan in every time, and if I didn't, I could use the E100 micro-usb charging 2S battery with the V2s. You're not alone on the sketchiness of taking the faceplate off ! ha. BTW- you don't need to take the middle screw out to separate the halves as that only holds the optics to the bottom half. Nice work on the mod. I'll be doing it on my shortly.

For A$600 I reckon an on-off switch for the goggles and fan are warranted. Innovation time for fatshark! Nice work JB.

They look much easier to work on than my old Attitudes. I did a very similar fan mod to mine on the weekend, it just makes everything a little easier, totally worth the 5 minutes work.

I enjoy your videos and your direction lately is great. One piece of input. Change the catch phrase to "we are going to learn something today". This includes the viewer learning something with you. Thanks for the great content!

Please Please Please with Zebruh cakes do a review of the Eachine EV100's as a teardown video as to see if we can hack into putting in Laforge modules

Thanks for another informative video! I'll never do that (as far as you- OR Fatshark- will know), but I'm glad to see the inside of the equipment!
BTW: 5 points off for not cleaning the old solder and stains off your mat before performing that goggle surgery...! :o

Hi Josh! Curious if you've updated your LaForge modules to the new 3.0 firmware yet? It's been released to the public and I've been running it for a couple weeks now. I'm sure many people would like to see a video on the update. It's the most major update I've seen since getting my modules.

Am I too picky here or there is a RED wire going to Negative terminal on a barrel plug? 5:39 :)

you actually only need to remove the 2 outer screws to just get the goggle casing apart. The middle screw only hold the optic housing in place which would probably be better to leave in until case has been separated so as to not damage any ribbon cables during the process.

Thanks for digging through your goggles. I hope I never have to, but it's nice to have the guide!

I had to do this same thing with my goggles, they had a piece of dust get into them. I was fairly surprised at how simple they are to take apart.

Joshua, why does it look like you have the yellow wire hooked up to the positive and the red wire hooked up to the ground? Am I correct or am I just seeing things? I want to do this mod but I want to confirm first. Thanks for the great content.

I see you ditched the crappy 3D printed LaForge module covers like I did. I still use the outer cable routing part though I think it looks cool.

Does the fan blows or suck air from the goggles ?

What is the latest model of fat shark in goggles?

Where did you get your LaForge covers?

Needed to reinforce the lipo input and antenna connector on some older Attitude V2s, and figured while I was in there I'd clean the optics. Had done it before no problem. connected everything up to test and only one monitor back light was working. LSS, I could not get it to work again. I think the problem is with the ribbon cable and, well, dealing with those tiny ribbon cables and the retention piece on the socket is a challenge, and one of those broke. So I bought Headplay SE with the narrower lens. I hope it's okay for Acro FPV.

I took mine apart just like you said to do. but now they will not power up. Are you doing a part 2? Just kidding.. I like to take stuff apart, but draw the line way before the goggles. Cool to see "what's inside"
