Me and Earl and the Dying Girl Official International Trailer #1 (2015) - Olivia Cooke Movie HD

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL is the uniquely funny, moving story of Greg (Thomas Mann), a high school senior who is trying to blend in anonymously, avoiding deeper relationships as a survival strategy for navigating the social minefield that is teenage life. He even describes his constant companion Earl (RJ Cyler), with whom he makes short film parodies of classic movies, as more of a 'co-worker’ than a best friend. But when Greg’s mom (Connie Britton) insists he spend time with Rachel (Olivia Cooke) – a girl in his class who has just been diagnosed with cancer - he slowly discovers how worthwhile the true bonds of friendship can be.

I don't mind the ads.
I don't mind the buffer.
But when the ads buffer,
I suffer

Anyone who didn't cry at the end of the movies needs to go to Oz and get themselves a heart!

i watched this on the plane and i was crying my eyes out at the end and the person sitting next to me looked genuinely worried and asked if i was okay and that just made me cry harder. i think she realized that it was because of the movie but she avoided any contact with me for the rest of the plane ride

Life's depressing enough without these kinds of films.

This movie won't be a love cancer story. It said that in the book

"I'm not really putting this very well. My point is this: This book contains precisely zero Important Life Lessons, or Little-Known Facts About Love, or sappy tear-jerking Moments When We Knew We Had Left Our Childhood Behind for Good, or whatever. And, unlke most books in which a girl gets cancer, there are definitely no sugary paradoxical single-sentence-paragraphs that you're supposed to think are deep because they're in italics. Do you know what I'm talking about? I'm talking about sentences like this:

The cancer had taken her eyeballs, yet she saw the world with more clarity than ever before.

Barf. Forget it. For me personally, things are in no way more meaningful because I got to know Rachel before she died. If anything, things are less meaningful. All right?"

This movie in one word: powerful. It's one of those movies that changes you after you watch it, or at the very least haunts you for a week afterwards.

A real representation of what it's like to be a teenager. Hilarious as well, and extremely touching. I would recommend whole heartedly.

read this book a couple of days ago...it was truly brutally honest. the hollywood part of my brain is like "nooo i need a happy ending how dare you, Jesse Andrews" but the realistic part of my brain is like "yeah this is life." I just hope the movie lives up to the book

My friend died a while ago...never got to hang out with him before that, it was a day before our school fair even. :/ This reminds me of him

I watched this movie last night and I really think it's worth watching. Unlike the fault in our stars the movie depicts the unlikely friendship of Greg ( an anti social, awkward senior) and Rachel ( a quiet, jewish girl) recently diagnosed with stage 4 Leukemia. It's not a sappy, sad cancer- love story but rather one of how she unexpectedly touched his life and changed him forever. I connected with this movie, because I lost my dad to stage 4 lung cancer, that lead to a brain tumour. My ad was just like Rachel. He was patient, calm and humble. I never saw how much pain he was in and how miserable he was until the very last days. I grew an unexpected bond with my dad through his illness. He touched my life and it made me realize so many things. He fought extremely hard, but as the cancer took over, it took him with it. That is what most broke me. But like Mr. Mccarthy says in a scene in the movie, " Those we love, who die, we still continue to learn more about them afterwards. Their memory lives on." That scene made me cry not because of how much I miss my dad, but how much i am discovering about him even after death. This movie is exceptional.

Greg... I trusted you. I trusted you so damn much and then you just go ahead and lie to me? Not cool dude, not cool.

The hospital scene where Greg shows the movie that he has made for Rachel has forever been etched in my memory. Funny how something so depressing can also be so beautiful.

Norman:My mother says that I shouldn't have sex with you.
Emma Decody: Are you joking? That is totally insulting. I have lived with this illness every day of my life, 24-7. I think I know my own limitations. I think I've earned the right to make my own decisions, not take direction from two people who wouldn't know their ass from a handbag if they had a head cold. I didn't think your mother was coming on this date with us.
