Guitarist Bryan Aspey demonstrates the Epiphone Les Paul Ultra III.

Meet the Les Paul Ultra-III from Epiphone - a guitar that's designed for those who want to record straight from the guitar. This guitar is the latest evolution in Epiphone's renowned Ultra series, presented in that classic Les Paul shape with some modern improvements for the player who demands more form their instrument. Retaining the iconic Les Paul design, the Ultra-III uses a back belly scarf so it sights nicely on your body, while the weight-reduced body makes it easier on the shoulder so you're ready to keep playing even after hours of jamming and gigging. The Ultra-III is loaded with Epiphone's ProBucker pickups, inspired by Gibson's legendary BurstBucker pickups, and the revolutionary NanoMag pickup by Shadow, which gives you a really rich shimmering acoustic guitar like sound - the ultimate option for those who love the sound of an eectric and acoustic in the same set.

The Ultra-III's built in controls allow seamless transitions between the ProBucker and NanoMag systems or a blend of both thanks to a push switch. On the rear, you'll find dedicated controls for the NanoMag, ensuring perfect tonal balance as you can set your bass, treble and gain on the NanoMag to shape your tone and balance the output with your ProBuckers. You can also hook the mono output jack to a single amp to blend the tones, or use two amps and two cables with the stereo jack to isolate each style of pickup. The Epiphone Ultra-III introduces a built-in USB jack, allowing direct connection to your computer and compatibility with software like Native Instruments Guitar Rig 4 LE and any other compatible DAW.

A built in tuner means you need one less pedal on your board!

4:03 is where this guitar really shines. Shimmering acoustic along with heavy electric at the same time. It's like adding another guitarist to the band. I love mine.

One of the best guitar reviews on You Tube. I have an Ultra II and the guitar is incredible for the price.

Hey there everybody.. I actually own the midnight ebony ultra III and I could answer some questions. The pros with this guitar are the acoustic pickup, the satin neck, and the tuner. Those are all great features. The issue with the nanomag is that you really need an acoustic amp to make sound decent. Another con is the action/fret buzz. I had to super raise my action to minimize the fret buzz. I also wouldn't recommend the midnight ebony. It looks kind of greenish in person and looks a lot better in the pic. I would get one of the burst if I bought a second. My last con is the USB capability. It is more work than it should be and doesn't even work on most computers. I never use it because of this. As my word of advice, I think you should get a Epiphone Les paul ultra 2, or the Epiphone les paul Custom pro. I personally think they are better.

It's always nice to see some innovation from the older guitar companies. I just wish it had a longer scale length and less awkward upper neck access. Keep up the good work.

This is one of the best reviews on a guitar I've seen on YouTube for a very long time! I've just spent over 16 minutes watching some guy's review on how to spot a Chinese Les Paul fake and if you took out of that review the length of time he spent playing the thing and waffling you could condense his review down to about 6 minutes! Too many people spend too much time talking about nothing instead of getting down to the nitty gritty. This guy does just that - gets to the nitty gritty - GREAT!

Great guitar, just got mine, fantastic tone and playability. Tuner and alternate outputs are a great addition too- makes it great for studio sessions or live performances.

Got the vintage sunburst, I put my Gibson studio LP to the side for now. This is a great Epiphone and the finish is damn excellent. Neck feels great and the satin on the back of the neck is very smooth. I'm really impressed. And its chambered for lightness and that is wonderful. The pickups are staying stock because they sound super responsive. Of course i have a great amplifier which ( we all know thats really where the tone comes from). I'm keeping this guitar.

After about a month of backorder, I finally got my Midnight Sapphire one. I must say, It is pretty epic. I love the satin neck, It feels natural. And I use the usb when playing on Garageband. It is absoulutly the cleaest sound possible. And the nanomag is amazing. It is so light, when it got here, I could've sworn there was nothing in the box. I love it.

Wow. I'm not usually interested in an Epiphone, but I really am impressed. Now is it all just coming from the pickups, or is there also distortion added?

Excellent demo. I think this guy could make any guitar sound great.

You have nothing to worry about. If the battery dies, the regular pickups still work. I have this guitar and I have nothing bad to say about it other than the factory setup had a high action, but that was easily fixed.

those are octaves he is doin G to F# to C to D octaves, to do an ocatave chord for example G you fret the tehth fret on the fifth string with your index and the twelve fret on the 3rd string with the pinky and muting the 4th string (or the one between the two you are fretting hope that helps:)sorry if i have bad english
