Egg Drop Inertia & Momentum Demonstration

When an object is at rest, it tends to stay at rest. But if it is pushed -- acted on by a force -- it will move. The resistance to movement is inertia, When something is moving, it has momentum related to its mass and speed.

The board is acted upon by a force and moves horizontally, out from under the egg. It has momentum. The eggs demonstrate inertia, resisting that movement, as they were not pushed. But then gravity acts on them, forcing them to fall into the cups below.
