How Can I Unlock A #Bitlocker Drive After Changing The OS || #Windows_10 / #Windows _11
Today I got a 10-generation laptop and re-installed Windows 10 on it. After a clean installation of Windows 10, all drives are locked with BitLocker, or encrypted, except system drives. I could not access my files. I was really scared and looking for a solution. Finally, I found a solution. I can open my files If I linked to Microsoft with my email. Thank god. Previously I used an email account on my laptop.

I was in a big trouble when I formatted my C drive (system drive) and my other drives like D, E and F were locked by bitlocker and I didn't know the recovery key. After some trial and error, I finally was able to unlock those drive without losing the data.
Here is how you can also unlock your drives: (You need to have a dell laptop)
-Restart system and enter a BIOS mode (Keep pressing F12 if you are a dell user. For other manufacturers, key might get differ).
-After entering BIOS, you will see an option called 'SupportAssist OS Recovery' and press enter.
-Choose option RESET (This will re-install the factory operation system that came with the system when you had bought it)
-After choosing RESET, you will see 2 options: Reset to factory setting and Reset and update.
-Choose Reset to factory setting (You might want to take back up of your C drive if there are any important files stored on your desktop, documents, downloads, etc. because this will format your C drive (where windows is installed) and will re-install the factory OS.)
-It will take 15-20 mins and you are done!
-You will be asked setup your system (like new).
-Once it is done, you will see that your locked drives have been unlocked successfully and data is still there in the drives as you left.
THIS IS HOW IT WORKED FOR ME. I'M POSTING THIS IN ORDER TO HELP SOMEONE WHO IS FACING THE SIMILAR ISSUE.

Unfortunately when I try to access by Bitlocker keys, Microsoft asks for my recovery email to send a code, which I respond to, but then they never send the code to the email! Every "solution" I can find from Microsoft requires me to request and receive a code at the recovery email address to my Microsoft account, but no code ever arrives! I'm so frustrated!

When I click on drive there is no option to type a "key". I click on it many times but nothing happens.

I have to do this every time I log onto my computer so this is not a solution. I want the drive to be unlocked every time I log into the computer. But I have to enter the 48 digit code each time and it won't let me copy and paste so this is a real pain.

changed the cpu and now I lost access to my drive, the drive show as a non formated drive with unrecognized system file, I don't have the option to unlock it, but ---> I DO STILL HAVE MY RECOVERY KEY (unlike most it seem) so my problem is not there I just don't know how to recover it as it no more seen as a bitlocker drive.

this only works when Microsoft, during the new installation process, saved the changed IDs, but it didn't, which left the drives locked. perfect work from MS as usual.
