Interview of Alan Kirman, Emeritus Prof. of Economics (Aix-Marseille III) at Crisis Observatory

Ο Alan Kirman είναι επίτιμος καθηγητής Οικονομικών στο Aix-Marseille III University και στο Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, και είναι μέλος του Institute Universitaire της Γαλλίας. Απέκτησε τον διδακτορικό του τίτλο από το Πανεπιστήμιο Princeton, και έχει διδάξει Οικονομικά στο Johns Hopkins University, στο Universite Libre de Bruxelles, στο Warwick University, και στο European University Institute της Φλωρεντίας. Έχει εκλεχθεί ως μέλος στο Econometric Society και στο European Economic Association, και του έχει απονεμηθεί το Humboldt Prize στην Γερμανία. Alan Kirman, emeritus professor at Aix-Marseille III University, answers the following questions:

1) Ηave we learned the right lessons from the crisis?

2) Which are the challenges that economic theory has to face after the crisis?

3) What do you think about the crisis in the Εurozone periphery? What went wrong in these countries and how do you evaluate the handling of the crisis so far?

4) What do you think about the Greek crisis? Is the approach that has been adopted sustainable?

Alan Kirman is professor emeritus of Economics at the University of Aix-Marseille III and at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales and is a member of the Institut Universitaire de France. His Ph.D. is from Princeton and he has been professor of economics at Johns Hopkins University, the Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Warwick University, and the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. He was elected a fellow of the Econometric Society and of the European Economic Association and was awarded the Humboldt Prize in Germany. He is member of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. He has published 150 articles in international scientific journals. He also is the author and editor of many books.
