I like the HipLock idea, but in my far-off motorcyclist days, I was warned-off putting chains around my waist after talking with a group of Trauma Nurses at medical conference - every one of them had at least one nasty story of how a motorcyclist/cyclist had broken their spine just above the sacroiliac and were paralysed after landing on a chain at speed during a tumble. It cured me of that idea straight away - I only wrap them around the frame these days.

I have an all black hardtail. I just like how it looks. My full suspension is black with white and red accents.

About the play/wabble of a fork with brake engaged: make sure your headset is not loose - this would have the same symptoms.

The comments on bike colour were something I forgot about and has a similar experience with. I was riding a matte black Cannondale for about 4 years and when I was shopping for a replacement, I ended up looking at models that were bright orange, lime green...silver: basically anything but black. I think we feel a need to change things up on a new ride and a fresh new look is part of that. (I ended up with a silver model BTW)

my matte black Stumpjumper makes me feel like its a very serious machine. I have teal grips, pedals, and crank boots to give it a bit of life, but I love the blackness.

road bmx cranks with a square taper. never had issues. pinch bolts my friend pinch bolts. look into the primo powerbite and holowbite cranks they use the same spindle as a bunch of the old mountain bike cranks. i believe RNC was the company that used to make cranks that used the same spindle for mountainbikes. and had ti spindles available that people would use to upgrade their primo cranks. could also get a set of hollow stem bolts and swap out the pinch bolts to something lighter.

The color of my bike matters quite a bit to me because I know I'm gonna be stuck with it for quite a while lol I don't have the money to upgrade often, so I plan on riding this bike for years. That's also probably why I prefer a stealth look as well... it's easy to change the color scheme of it with just a few anodized parts. Just changed out the bar end covers and valve stem covers to a different color and it was a pretty nice change.

As far as the color bike I don’t feel any different when I’m on the bike however when I get off and look at it then I can really appreciate the color

I have so far had three bikes stolen, all out of my storage locker that had a key fob to get in the room, a u-lock to get into the locker and a huge motorcycle chain lock around the bikes and a concrete pillar. No match for a portable blow torch....shows that if a thief wants your bikes, they'll find a way. I now store my bikes inside my home and never leave them from my hands when out in public.

I always get this question of how to properly clean a bike and I actually Not sure how to properly clean a bike myself

Problem with air shocks (especially rear shocks) is that they heat up and are far more susceptible to 'pogo-ing.' where the oil has become so hot that it doesn't dampen correctly. This is really only a concern in longer DH trails where the rear end cops a beating.

advice for locking your pike up, lock it where everyone locks theirs up, have one expensive lock and 2 more cheap locks, the more locks you have the longer it takes to steal, bike theft is all about time, if you make their time not worth it they wont bother!

Hamburger locks are awesome. They're lightweight, small & harder to cut thru. "Wheel Up" is the brand I use and it fits on your seat post or frame.

#askgmbntech hello, having had 2 bikes recently stolen, might be a good shout to do a video on theft prevention and tips for bike recovery?
