That would explain the Engineers surrounding David on the starmap, because they show interest in him. He does seem to be a big part of the movie.

I kind of agree, but despite the flaws, and having never been a fan of Lost: I just like how the story in Prometheus is told.

But I do admire Prometheus for actually daring to try exploring these big Ideas. Especially in a sci-fi movie, where there can be no actual fact to go on (as we know it).

I think the main problem was more that there were two writers, trying to mix two different Ideas into 1 story. I like what Lindeloff has introduce like the ampules and Idea of a more amended, synthetic viral version of the Xenomorph biowepaon. But yes it has got slightly confused who the much bigger, extremely ambitous Ideas of trying to mix sicence and religion, creation and evolution. Its going to be very hard trying to even answer sum of the questions they've proposed for the sequel.

'If "Prometheus" makes no money and everybody hates it and I'm vilified as the guy who basically ruined it, it's still worth it ...' - Damon Lindelof.

Man, this guy, what a smug thing to say. Delusions of grandeur.
Hope he goes the way of that dinosaur director M. Night Shyamalan.

On the TED Talk. Peter Wayland says "We are the Gods now". I think the Engineers in Prometheus only get pissed off when they see David 8. The Biomech Android, Hence, becoming rivals of the engineers, so they see us as a threat. That is why they try taking a ship full of Bioweapons to earth to wipe us out. That is my take on it. I also think Peter Wayland turns up later as an old man, the Ted talk was 50 years before the movie is set,

If you think it was confusing you just weren't paying attention.

I think I'm over Lost and accept the season 5 finale as the series finale.

I don't hate this guy anymore.

Expect polar bears, they're an essential plot device

The whole thing was character development. Unlike the other Alien films.
What are YOU talking about?

Lost started promising and then became increasingly sillier and more absurd. I have seen soap operas with more realistic plots and characters.

I love the Lost fans always saying:"You're not paying enough attention." or "You don't get it." What the hell is there to get?? That the whole thing is an incoherent mess Lindelof made up as he went along.

I can't believe Ridley Scott got talked into (maybe "persuaded" by the studio) having Demon Lindehell write the script.

in his defense it's not entirely his responsibility. Spaihts wrote the first script, which was apparently so similar to ALIEN that Scott had to hire someone else to make things fresh. Lindelof probably improved upon it, in my assumption. Although I've read fanfiction that's loads better...shame.

The only thing 'Alien' to this hack is character development.

No, it was great. Ridley just took a lot out of his script for time.

No I think you've replied to the wrong person there dude, now read my comment again very carefully this time.

People hate Damon Lindelof because he actually makes them think. You want to go watch two hours of garbage that doesn't at least stretch your imagination? Go watch veggie tales. Leave the more complex movies/tv shows to people who will give credit where credit is due.
