Then again you're right... Duncan wouldn't be bopping and jiving nor rapping about basketball sneakers. Yeah... sandals or flip flops might be more his style.


Hey... I don't watch pro nor college basketball, so, I had no idea shoes were such a big deal at the college level. I had no idea Nike has contractual agreements with some universities to outfit their players with Jordan's. I was surprised to find--in this video--Marquette's basketball program has a wall full of showcasing shoes, and their facilities look on pro level (at least what I pro basketball locker rooms look like). Rick probably was aware of all of this at universities across the country though. He strikes me as someone that follows college basketball.


I wish New Balance the best of luck on their entrance into the competitive (so it seems to be), higher price point, basketball shoes. I'm rooting for New Balance over Nike's and their Jordans.

Some good questions and points, on the New Balance deal, raised by both Phil and Rick. Phil really got deep into more specifics about these new shoes being put out by New Balance. as for Nike... they make some great looking sneakers BUT I'm not impressed with quality construction of their sneakers over New Balance. And New Balance still offers their sneakers in size wide width. I have wide feet and appreciate that. but that said I'm not a fan of the way these new sneakers look. And what's up with than name? No way I'm remembering that name. I refuse too like Archie Bunker. Just name the shoes something normal. Coming up with something weird like "WGYPRX8316."

When you say that you are running a node, do you mean a Jörmungandr node? Just on your computer? Or are you saying you are running a stake pool? And what tool are you using to see who is connected to you?
